Charles Perrault (France, 1697): Le Petit Chaperon Rouge His version is the earliest printed one. Darker moral: the story warns young girls about the dangers of trusting strangers. The wolf doesn’t get killed; he eats both Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother. Moral explicitly added: “Children, especially young girls, should never talk to strangers.” Brothers Grimm (Germany, 1812): Rotkäppchen In this version, a huntsman rescues both Red Riding Hood and her grandmother by cutting open the wolf. They fill the wolf’s belly with heavy stones so he dies. Grimm added more of a “happy ending” while keeping the cautionary tone. Inspired by the tale, here is a poetic folk blues adaptation with a dark theme. Music made with Suno Pro. Video with Capcut SeeDream 1.0
