A man was filmed lighting up a cigarette while aboard a flight on May 21.

The incident took place on a Spirit Airlines flight headed to Minnesota at 8.30am.

The man was lying across two seats, making loud outbursts, and lit the cigarette.

A concerned passenger flagged down an attendant who ashed the cigarette on a seat tray and said: 'You cannot smoke on airplanes. It's against the law'

The man jumped and appeared startled when attendant put out the cigarette. #flight

Upon landing, airport police escorted him off the flight
