Water scarcity and groundwater depletion are critical challenges in Pakistan, especially in urban and semi-urban areas. In this video, we show step-by-step how a dry bore well at a mosque in Kiani Town, Lehtrar Road, Islamabad was revived using rainwater harvesting.
This mosque had a completely dry bore well, making daily water use extremely difficult. Instead of drilling a new bore, we created a rainwater harvesting pit and diverted all rooftop rainwater directly into the bore well. Over time, this process helped recharge the underground aquifer and restore water availability.
