With the onset of the space race, humans continue dumping more and more objects into outer space. Guess what? Most of the stuff we put up there doesn't come back! These abandoned objects explode, collide and act as hazards. Moriba enlightens us with the politics of outer space and how a sustainable outer space is necessary for our 21st century lifestyle!
Thanking Driss Elmeloud (@iamdriss) for the opening gears animation reel. Moriba is currently the director for Computational Astronautical Sciences and Technologies (CAST) at UT Austin and hopes to present his work to the entire world with TED. Prior to UT, Moriba worked in the Air Force Research Laboratory and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he was a Spacecraft Navigator on a handful of Mars missions. He represents 5 of the largest aerospace organizations, is an elected Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, and has served on the US delegation to the United Nations and testified to Congress for outer space matters.
