Aromatic and spicy Goan Prawns Curry bursting with coastal flavors of fresh coconut, Kashmiri chillies, and tender prawns—your perfect Sunday meal! 🦐🌶️🥥
🍤 Ingredients:
For Masala Paste:
🧂 1 tsp rice
🌰 1 tbsp coriander seeds
🌶️ 4 Kashmiri red chillies
🌶️ 4 Shankeshwari red chillies
🌱 4 black peppercorns
🥥 1 cup grated fresh coconut
🍋 1 tbsp tamarind
💧 Water as needed
For Curry:
🦐 500g prawns (cleaned & deveined)
🧂 Salt to taste
🌕 ½ tsp turmeric powder
🧅 1 medium onion (chopped)
🌶️ 4 green chillies (mild)
🥥 4 tbsp coconut oil
📜Recipe:
🌀 Step 1: Prepare Masala Paste
In a blender, add:
4 black peppercorns
1 tbsp tamarind
4-5 Kashmiri red chillies
4 Shankeshwari red chillies
1 cup grated fresh coconut
1 tsp rice
1 tbsp coriander seeds
Add water and blend into a fine, smooth paste. Keep aside.
🧼 Step 2: Clean & Marinate Prawns
Wash prawns thoroughly.
Marinate with salt and turmeric.
Let it rest for 30 minutes to remove the smell.
Rinse again and keep aside.
🔥 Step 3: Cook the Curry
Heat 4 tbsp coconut oil in a pan.
Add chopped onions and green chillies.
Sauté well and cover with a lid.
Cook until onions turn golden brown.
🍤 Step 4: Add Prawns
Add the marinated prawns to the pan.
Fry well and close the lid to let them cook.
Open, stir-fry again for even cooking.
🥥 Step 5: Add Masala & Simmer
Add the ground masala paste.
Add water as per your desired curry consistency.
Add salt to taste.
Mix well and bring to a boil over medium flame.
Once it starts boiling, switch off the gas.
✅ Step 6: Final Touch
Check if prawns and masala are cooked and well-blended.
Serve hot with steamed rice or chapati.
