This is a remake of our earlier video with a voiceover.
For Part A, the solution is straightforward. We will start by listing down all the lengths we know. That allows us to figure out AB since we know the total length of fence used.
For Part B, we calculate the perimeter by subtracting the inner fences. To do that, we need to figure out the area of the middle portion. This is where Part A comes in: the length AB allows us to find the area of the top portion. Since we are given the area of the total plot of land, we can thus work out the area of the middle portion. As you can see, this is rather involved so pay attention to the step-by-step derivation. It is not hard but it does require some focus under exam conditions.
