Old Harry Rocks are three chalk formations, including a stack and a stump, located at Handfast Point, on the Isle of Purbeck on the Dorset coast, southern England. They mark the most eastern point of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Old Harry Rocks were created through thousands of years of erosion by the sea and were originally a part of the chalk ridge-line that runs across the south coast joining up with the Needles on the Isle of Wight.
The name Old Harry is believed to refer to the devil who legend says once had a sleep on the rocks.
