Canopy Indonesia is a social enterprise focuses on developing ecotourism in West Borneo as an alternative option to improve the local economy.
Danau Sentarum National Park is an area of Interconnected seasonal lakes located in the remote area of West Kalimantan about 700 km from the provincial capital Pontianak and not far from the Malaysian border of Sarawak.
It is a seasonally flooded tropical forests which consists of lowland tropical forest in the hills and flooded peat swamp forest in the low-lying areas. It is the major water catchment area for West Borneo.
The lakes experience a wet season most of the year, which accounts for higher water levels. While July, August, and September are usually the drier seasons of the year.
