Yet, for many learners who are deaf or hard of hearing, literacy remains one of the most significant barriers to reaching their full potential. Without the right tools, these students are often left behind in a world built for sound.

Through the EPIC Project, we are changing that narrative.

Strengthening Inclusive Classrooms
We recently concluded an intensive 10-day workshop designed to bridge the gap between silence and literacy. By investing in our educators, we are ensuring that "inclusion" is more than just a buzzword—it is a classroom reality.

During this hands-on training, teachers gained:
• Technology-Driven Skills: Utilising digital tools to make visual learning more interactive and accessible.
• Advanced Communication Techniques: Strengthening Zambian Sign Language integration to ensure no child is "lost in translation."
• Practical Literacy Strategies: Tailoring reading and writing instruction to meet the unique linguistic needs of deaf learners.

Why This Matters
Social inclusion starts with access. When a teacher is equipped with the right skills, a classroom transforms from a space of frustration into a sanctuary of opportunity. By breaking down literacy barriers, we aren't just teaching children how to read; we are giving them the keys to autonomy, employment, and a voice in their communities.
