Texas is banning the sale and production of smokable hemp products starting March 31 under new rules adopted by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The rules will force stores across Texas to remove products like THCA flower and certain cannabis concentrates from their shelves. Edible hemp products such as gummies and drinks will still be allowed, but new regulations raise fees on businesses by more than 3,000%.
In this video, I speak with ATX Organics general manager João Mitchell, who's also legislative director for the Texas Cannabis Collective. We discuss what the new rules mean for stores and consumers.
