Panguitch Lake, Utah, Trout Fly Fishing Part-2

Описание: Part 2 of a May 2021 fishing trip to Panguitch Lake. Blustery weather, windy conditions 6 of 8 days made fly fishing from the shore a challenge. A few scenes of trout hooked, landed and lost. I would fish 3 hours in the mornings and 3 hours in the afternoons. Other times spent relaxing in camp & camp chores.

Bait fishermen, primarily using Powerbait, often took their 4 fish limits in less than 2 hours. Caught more rainbows than I, but I landed more cutthroat and tiger trout than those anglers using Powerbait. Overall landed over 80 trout on the fly in 7 days fishing, rainbows, cutthroat and tiger trout, with 90% released and a few 15-18" rainbows kept to grill over the campfire for dinners.

Utah Fish & Game regulations 2021: Panguitch Lake, Garfield County
• Limit 4 trout (a combined total).
• No more than 2 may be cutthroat or tiger trout under 15 inches, and no more than 1 may be a cutthroat or tiger trout over 22 inches.
• All cutthroat and tiger trout from 15 to 22 inches must be immediately released.
• Trout may not be filleted and the heads or tails may not be removed in the field or in transit.
