The British automaker has launched its compact sedan, XE, at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The car features a Rs. 39.90 lacs (Ex-showroom Delhi) price tag, which will definitely help it go head-to-head with the likes of BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-class. Under the hood, Jaguar XE is available in 2 turbocharged petrol variants. The standard 2.0-litre petrol unit produces 200PS of power and 320Nm of peak torque, whereas the more gruntier variant uses the same 2.0-litre powerplant, which has been tweaked to deliver 240 PS of power output and 340Nm of peak torque.
Jaguar also showcased its new XF at the 2016 Auto Expo. Competing with the likes of Audi A6 and BMW 5 series, the new XF is also offered in AWD variant. The sedan is likely to make its way in India with a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine. The mill in UK comes in two trims viz. 161 bhp and 178 bhp. While the former is capable of generating a peak torque of 380 Nm, later produces 430 Nm. While the 161 bhp variant takes a uniform 8.7 seconds for doing 0-100 kmph sprint, for 178 bhp it depends on the wheel drive and the transmission deployed. Fastest is the real-wheel drive manual variant which takes 8.0 seconds to accomplish the same. Transmission duties are carried either by 6-speed manual gearbox or 8-speed automatic.
Jaguar has also made the Indian premiere of their first ever SUV - F-Pace, at 2016 Indian Auto Expo. The SUV is expected to be launched in the latter half of the year. Jaguar F-Pace was revealed a few months ago, in the year 2015. In India, it will compete with SUVs like the Volvo XC90 , Audi Q7, BMW X5 and others.
At Land Rover stall, it showcase Range Rover Sport which was launched last year and Evoque.
