Inductance is the property of a coil that opposes any change in current flow. For a solenoid, the inductance L = (μ × N² × A) / ℓ, where μ is the core permeability, N is the number of turns, A is the cross-sectional area, and ℓ is the coil length. Increasing turns or core permeability increases inductance. This principle is used in transformers, filters, and chokes to store magnetic energy efficiently.
