Notification was released on 14th November 2025.
Online application started on 18th November 2025 and ended on 9th December 2025.
Application edit window & certificate upload extended till 5th January 2026.

Preliminary Exam was tentatively scheduled for March 2026. However, due to the upcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly Elections 2026 (polling on 23rd & 29th April 2026), there is a strong possibility that the WBCS 2024 Prelims will be delayed/postponed.
Many sources and coaching updates suggest the exam may now be conducted after the elections — likely in May or June 2026 (or even later). The exact new date will be announced by WBPSC soon on the official website (psc.wb.gov.in).
