Field of Dreams Helsinki 2021 - an artistic intervention by visual artist Sophia Ehrnrooth

Since 2019, Sophia Ehrnrooth's performative installation - Field of Dreams - has transformed highly competitive football arenas into non-competitive space of collaboration and play.

The process of transformation is essential in this artistic intervention. Transformation is a central concept that has been explored by many artists throughout history. It is the process of changing or converting something into a new form or state, often resulting in a profound shift in meaning or perspective. On the pitch Finnish born Sophia Ehrnrooth works hands on with volunteers and participants to explore new visions for the future. Each participant can kick a new vision in motion and make a goal.

Visual artist Sophia Ehrnrooth explores themes of dreams and losses, identity and community through media art, photography and installation.
Her Dream of Championship series was initiated in 2015 and is rooted in the aspirations of young football players.
