All of this unfolds at the newly minted Cell Manufacturing Competence Centre (CMCC) located in Parsdorf. With this stride, the BMW Group solidifies its stance as a pivotal player in the realm of battery cell technology, all in the quest to elevate electromobility.

The CMCC facility in Parsdorf stands as the bedrock of BMW's comprehensive approach to cell production. Armed with such expertise, the company is charting new territories when it comes to production standards, quality benchmarks, performance, cost-efficiency, and environmentally-friendly practices. These goals are pursued in close synergy with their partners, united in the mission to usher in a new era of standard battery cell production. In the hallowed halls of BMW's battery cell competence centres, both in Munich and Parsdorf, the company systematically embarks on a journey toward future milestones. This includes the rollout of the sixth generation of BMW electric drive trains and the development of cutting-edge all-solid-state batteries (ASSB). At the Cell Manufacturing Competence Centre, approximately 80 dedicated employees toil tirelessly within a sprawling 15,000-square-metre workspace. An impressive total investment of around 170 million euros has fortified this endeavor, with invaluable support coming from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development, and Energy. These pillars of assistance are extended within the broader framework of the European funding initiative known as IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest).
