Sengoku Basara: Chronicle Heroes - Ieyasu Tokugawa (Mature) | Conquest Mode

Описание: The new version of Ieyasu from Samurai Heroes/3. I really have no idea how to refer to him to differ him from the SB2 version, but the game itself doesn't really call him anything different, so I just kind of went with Samurai Warriors 5's naming convention of adding "(Mature)" here in the video title.

The Japanese wiki I checked called this game a "kusoge" (literally Japanese for "shitty game") and I can kind of see why now. Playing through Ieyasu is more or less the exact same boring Conquest Mode stuff, and the unique stages he got features interactions with Yukimura and Masamune recycled from Basara 3, plus a Sekigahara stage with Mitsunari taken from Basara 3 as well. These stages make absolutely no sense as their dialogues only make sense when you encounter them in Basara 3, such as Masamune talking about his terms before allying with Ieyasu. It's recycled here but it's just a random battle that has nothing to do with that. When he and Mitsunari have a showdown in another Chronicle Stage, Mitsunari mentions Basara 3's plot where Hideyoshi was killed, even though he's totally still alive on the map here when this battle was triggered. I can see why this game's price supposedly dropped days after its release now, according to the Japanese wiki I checked. This game is so low budget that apparently they did not have any new voice acting done for this game and every voice line is recycled from somewhere else. I can even identify some of the lines from Battle Heroes' stories that I've just recently went through.

For his gameplay, they kept the charging gimmick for his normal attacks from SB3. His Triangle is a ground pound that can be charged up to deal pretty ridiculous damage here, so you’ll see me spam it a lot to take out officers in around 4 hits because it’s just that powerful in this game. R1+Square is a forward punch, and it becomes a projectile if you use it in midair. R1+Triangle will have him pick up and throw Tadakatsu’s drill spear, which is both slow as hell and pretty weak. How come they pick the weirdest skills to put into this game for these two SB3 characters when there are other good ones to choose from?

One thing with this game is that these two SB3 characters received new weapon designs for certain weapon tiers in this game, as well as brand new “armor” pieces just like the SB2 cast. Mitsunari earlier has a spiky armguard as his tier 1 armor piece, and Ieyasu here has chains replacing the ropes on his pants as his armor. Pretty cool seeing these new designs. If only they aren’t stuck in this one niche and boring game.

This game is absolutely not worth playing, unless you're interested in playing as Basara 3's Mitsunari and Ieyasu here like me. If you want a better version of this game, play Battle Heroes, the game that came out before this that offers more interesting new stories and content.

No, Hisahide is still an NPC in this game. They went through the effort of porting two of the new characters into here, yet they still didn’t bother making Matsunaga, who's already in Battle Heroes, playable, until they released Utage later in 2011. Capcom must have really hated this guy. Also noticed they added a new Honganji map in this game that uses the final section of Honganji from Basara 2. In Battle Heroes they tend to use the Osaka map for scenarios where Kennyo shows up.
