In a post on X, PM Modi said he reiterated India’s commitment to peace and stability and urged for dialogue and diplomacy. He also expressed deep concern over the loss of lives and damage to civilian properties in Iran. This marks the first communication between PM Modi and President Pezeshkian since the war began on February 28. Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz remains closed amid the risk of bombardment due to the ongoing conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most crucial energy chokepoints, carrying over 20% of global oil supply.
