Introducing: The Black Finger.
A homemade 4litre Ford powered drop saw for cutting seasoned hardwood. I built the entire saw from scratch myself. Next part of the project is an elevator to clear the sawn blocks. Stage three will be a hydraulic block splitter. More details on The Black Finger listed below.
6-cylinder Ford cross flow running at 2400RPM which gives a circumference speed of approx 80mph.
1 and 1/2 inch output shaft on the flywheel running two B-section V belts
4-inch drive
8-inch driven
36inch diameter saw
running at 1200rpm
