After the meeting with US President Donald Trump in August, Armenia and Azerbaijan seem to be closer to finally signing and ratifying the negotiated peace agreement. The United States is expected to play a major role in opening the connection between Azerbaijan and its exclave Nachichevan via Armenian territory and enhancing connectivity in the South Caucasus. If this materializes, Armenia could become a key hub for connectivity between Europe and Asia. Furthermore, Armenia is moving closer to the EU. It has expressed interest in EU integration and has initiated the process for a visa liberalization agreement. Following a keynote speech by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, our panelists assess the status of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and Armenia’s evolving position in the current geopolitical landscape. They also explore how the upcoming parliamentary elections next June may influence related developments.
