I present the fifth of eight films shot in the Blackdown Hills during May and July 2025.

I explore the pretty village of Hemyock, the largest village in the Blackdown Hills with its fascinating ornate Victorian water pump.

The walk featured in this film takes me around the picturesque and secluded Madford Valley, in which I visit the ruins of one of Devon's major Cistercian abbeys, founded in 1201.

Filmed in the Blackdown Hills in the county of Devon. Locations include Hemyock, the Madford Valley and Dunkeswell Abbey.

Written, presented, researched, directed, camera and sound, edited and music by Patrick Leach.
