Polyculture is a practice of growing multiple crops together, mimicking natural ecosystems. Sonia Horowitz will discuss the principles of high intensity polyculture planting techniques for the home gardener, followed by a guided activity using said techniques to plan for a garden on paper.
Sonia is an expert gardener living in Glidden, WI. Her gardening style is high intensity polyculture planting following regenerative practices. Sonia has special interests in accessible gardening as well as community food security and is enthusiastic about sharing her love for gardening with everyone!
Hosted by members of the Chequamegon Northwoods Food Coalition Project, a partnership between the Cable Natural History Museum and Cable Community Farm. Project funding is provided through the Association of Science and Technology Centers Cultivating Community Science Stipend program.
