In a small Bengali village, I met the real heroes — farmers who changed how I look at life. From traditional houses to fish farms, folk songs, and home-cooked food… everything felt magical. Village life isn’t slow — it’s soulful.

Hi you beautiful people namaste I am Gunjan Pendorkar aka Bhanware Ki Gunjan

In this episode, I travel to a small Bengali village called Shankarnagar, near Armori, District Gadchiroli — a place where time slows down, colours feel brighter, and life feels alive again. 🌿

From traditional mud houses to lanes filled with vibrant flowers… from the smell of fresh air to the warmth of the people — this village reminded me what real living feels like.

We met a lovely Bengali woman cooking in her courtyard. Her son is an engineer working in the city, but she still chooses this peaceful, rooted life. And that’s where our journey truly began… we were searching for a house hidden deep inside farms and jungle.

Our sawaari of the day?
A goods carrier / tempo! 😄 The ride itself was a whole vibe.

Finally, we reached the home of Vishnu ji and his wife Rajni — the real heroes of this story.
Both of them have been honoured with the Progressive Kisaan Award by the Government 🙌

They live in a small house beside a huge serene lake, run their own farming + fish farming, and welcome everyone with the kindest smiles. Their dogs Bunty and Babli are part of their family and honestly stole our hearts.

Rajni ji even sang a beautiful Bengali folk song for us.
We cooked together, ate together, laughed together — right in the middle of their farm. 🌾✨

Vishnu ji said something I will never forget:
People in the city think village life is better, and people in the village think city life is better… but village life is different. It’s beautiful in its own way.

The soil here has its own story.
When you come here… you don’t feel like going back.
