I wanted to build a manual machine to work on my manuals and I figured it might be helpful for my kids and team to practice on as well. I usually see the large ones built from lumber and they are bulky and hard to transport. The more I researched I found that people either make the bulky ones or they pay a bunch of money for a streamlined, aluminum one, but I didn't want to spend lots of money either. I know... "I want my cake and eat it too." I did some brainstorming, bought some metal and decided to build my own metal, foldable manual machine for bikes.
This project started in December and I built most of this in one day. I put it in the shed and came back to it two months later (February) to add a few pieces, test it out again on my race bike, and see if it will PASS or FAIL as an experiment. Regardless, I got to weld and create which is always fun and (outside of the tools) it only cost my $40 in materials.
