Köln Zoo Gorilla Troop

The females have a bit of a clash before lunch, beating their chests, while Kiano runs down to join in, beating his chest too. He ends up annoying his mum, Kissa. Silverback Kito, with his huge size, is busy having lunch, brushing some leaves aside in Kiano’s direction to grab some food pellets.

After lunch, Kiano is outside and bored. He wants to head back inside but faces a problem—his dad, Kito, is lying in the tunnel, completely blocking the way. Apparently, this is something Kito does a lot, and Kiano can't even squeeze past him.

There’s a quick glimpse of N’datwa, and Gina stops to check out her reflection. Kiano plays with a leaf in his mouth while waiting for his dad to move. Finally, Kito steps outside, and Kiano runs off to play with a bush.

Back inside, Kito is stripping a stick and showing off his massive canines.

Unfortunately because of filming conditions, I was unable to get any more footage of the troop.

Silverback Kito was born on the March 12th 2004 at the Köln Zoo. He has one son Kiano.

Kissa was born on the May 12th 2004 and she's the mother of Kiano. Her Transfers:

N'DATWA was born on 5 October 1989 at the Apenheul Primate Park. Her transfers are:
5 October 1989 – 6 July 1998: Apenheul Primate Park
6 July 1998 – Present: Kölner Zoo

KIANO was born on the March 3rd 2016 at the Köln Zoo.
