Sky News contributor Kosha Gada reveals speculations that Nikki Haley is sticking in the race for the Republican nomination as a means of “controlled opposition.”
It follows the former South Carolina governor's unprecedented defeat to former US President Donald Trump in her home state's primary over the weekend.
“She’s doing it for any number of reasons,” Ms Gada told Sky News Australia host Peta Credlin about Haley’s decision to keep her campaign going.
“To stay in the lime light, for future career prospects, to sort of be the fall-back option.
“There’re some more cynical people out there who think she’s in there as controlled opposition to muddy up the race.
“We can only speculate, we don’t know.”
