Yes sir! I’m Frank Sahwit, freelancer, and I saw the whole thing!

MIA FEY
This is it, Wright.

PHOENIX WRIGHT
B-but, Chief! What can I do against eyewitness testimony?!

MIA
IF YOUR CLIENT’S INNOCENT, THIS TESTIMONY’S FICTION
EXAMINE YOUR COURT RECORD FOR THE CONTRADICTION
IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO TAKE CONTROL! THE STORY’S CLEARLY PHONY
PRESENT SOMETHING TO POKE A HOLE IN THE TESTIMONY!

PHOENIX
I see!

MIA
THE WITNESS IS CLEARLY LYING TO THROW YOU OFF YOUR CASE
SO FIND A CONTRADICTION TO RUB IN HIS SMUG FACE
AND AFTER YOU HAVE MADE YOUR CAREFUL SELECTION
PRESENT SOME EVIDENCE AS YOUR AID AND YELL “OBJECTION!"

SAHWIT
I was selling magazines door-to-door when I saw that man suspiciously exiting the apartment! He left the door wide open, so I peeked inside, and I saw a woman lying on the floor, dead!
(LARRY again sobs loudly.)
Such a horrifying sight… I couldn’t even bring myself to go inside! Her apartment’s phone wasn’t working, and I don’t have a cell phone, so I had to go find a payphone to call the cops.

PHOENIX (to HIMSELF and MIA)
He didn't go inside...? That's probably the fastest contradiction I've ever heard.

MIA
So you’ve got to point it out!

IF THAT MAN TRIES TO DECEIVE, DEMAND THE COURT’S ATTENTION
IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM BELIEVE, YOU MUST CREATE SOME TENSION
HOW DARE THE WITNESS TELL A LIE WHEN THERE ARE LIVES AT STAKE?
LOOK HIM IN THE EYE, BANG YOUR DESK, AND PRESS HIM ‘TILL HE BREAKS!

PHOENIX (desk slam!)
HOLD IT! You say you didn’t go inside. How did you know the phone wasn’t working?

SAHWIT
I…er…you see, the phone was on a shelf next to the door. I didn’t go any further in than the doorway!

MIA
You’re getting closer. Don’t let him slither between your fingers.

CROWD
WE’VE WITNESSED TRIALS THROUGHOUT THESE YEARS
INSIDE THIS HALLOWED HALL
MAY TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAIL
ACCORDING TO THE LAW!

BUT IF IT’S GUILT OR INNOCENCE
THE ONLY THING THAT WE KNOW
IS THE WAY THEY BANG AND POINT AND SHOUT
Makes for a darn good show!

SAHWIT
So like I was saying, I found her dead at 11:24 AM.

PHOENIX
11:24? That’s awfully specific.

SAHWIT
Yes… well, I remember hearing the time.

PHOENIX
You heard the time…? How did you HEAR the time?

SAHWIT
I, uh…it must’ve been on a…radio? ...uh, a television show that announced the time!

PHOENIX
A TV show?

MIA
At last, this case finally begins to unwind. You know what to do, Wright?

PHOENIX
Let’s do it, Chief.

MIA/PHOENIX
WHEN THE WITNESS IS CLEARLY LYING
TO THROW ME OFF MY CASE
