Описание: We depart Stromboli on route to Panerea and are rewarded with breathtaking views of the volcano. Unfortunately, our stay among the Aeolian islands is short due to forcasted high winds in the area of the islands and through the Strait of Messina. The next day is our passage through the Strait where we narrowly miss Charybdis and Scilla and find a breath wind that carries us down the coast of Sicily. We are enchanted by the coastline of Sicily with its dense mountainside villages. Arriving in Taormina, we are happy to find what appears to be a welcome anchorage but suddenly take two hits to the hull from what sounded like BB gun fire as we looked for an anchor spot close to some abandoned buildings. We immediately go out, far and deep and check for damage as evening approaches. In this particular spot, we don't feel comfortable leaving the boat and plan on leaving the following morning.
