This verse appears in a passage where Jesus instructs his disciples to preach the gospel to all people. It means to publicly proclaim and share the "good news" of Jesus Christ, which includes his life, death, and resurrection, with the goal of bringing people to faith in him; essentially, it's the act of actively communicating the central message of Christianity to others.
