It is with immense pleasure that I present my new video, created with the support of my 3D reconstruction of Tarquinia and enhanced by digital animations.
Tarquinia remains today one of the most beautiful places in the world for its unparalleled artistic and natural heritage. Excluding Rome, Tarquinia—with its refined beauty—stands as the most beautiful town of our peninsula, thanks also to its unique history, which has shaped what we can still admire today, from the Etruscans to the Middle Ages.

Therefore, I am delighted to present Where the Etruscans Met the Gods: Tarquinia in 3D, a video that will take you on a journey back in time to the world of the Etruscans, through their temples, their paintings, and their wonders.

I would like to thank Francesco Galluccio for his support in research, particularly regarding the Ara della Regina, and Giulio Ranaldi, who assisted me with the panoplies and portrayed various roles throughout the film, especially that of the Etruscan priest.
It is with great pleasure that I share this video and warmly invite you to follow the work of both Francesco and Giulio. I also take this opportunity to provide useful references to explore their activities and expertise further.

Giulio Ranaldi graduated in Historical Sciences at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a thesis on Emperor Gallienus and the Roman military reforms of the 3rd century AD. For years an entrepreneur in the field of cultural heritage, since 2010 he has organized events focused on historical reenactment, including Ludi Romani, the International Festival of Roman Culture and Civilization. Giulio actively participates in events of public archaeology, particularly related to Etruscan culture, with the cultural association Suodales, of which he is president and founder.
In 2019, together with Federico Rubini, he created the Tyrrhenika project, “the route of Etruscan heritage,” with initiatives in numerous museums and archaeological sites.

Francesco Galluccio

Archaeologist and artist, creator of modern reproductions of panoplies and artifacts of ancient peoples.

Archaeologist
Francesco Galluccio is an Etruscologist archaeologist and master craftsman based in Rome, specialized in the creation of historical replicas. He is renowned for having crafted a faithful reproduction of the Hallaton helmet, exhibited at the Harborough Museum (England), true to the original and made with techniques such as repoussé for the decorations.

His replicas, often in iron and silvered or gilded brass, faithfully reproduce ancient helmets and armor, created with artisan mastery and historical accuracy. His work is highly valued among historical reenactors, European museums (including the Vatican and the Capitoline Museums in Rome), and the reenactment community.

He is recognized as a craftsman of excellence, nicknamed “master helmet maker”, a testament to his expertise in crafting helmets (including Praetorian ones), and is considered by many one of the greatest Etruscologists of our time.
