Описание: Oil production in the Bakken Formation also produces some of the richest natural gas in the country—meaning it contains a high proportion of natural gas liquids (NGLs), such as ethane and propane. As production increases, so do storage needs for NGLs. Kurz explains the EERC’s work in evaluating the feasibility of cavern development in some of North Dakota’s bedded salts as a storage solution, and why that could be important for the oil and gas industry.
