HL7 Message Types determine the use and applicability of an HL7 message when interfacing between systems.
In this tutorial we will cover the MSH-9 with its components, and examine how to find the definitions of these. This included how to interpret the HL7 Event Type from the MSH-9.2 and how to use the MSH-9.3 in message.
We look at how you can use HL7 Soup to obtain the desired Message Structure for your message type and get a definition of each message segment. This includes a list of which HL7 Segments are available for the current HL7 Message Type.
There is also a brief description of the ADT HL7 Message Type, and we show how to find all the HL7 Message Types available.
