Baldersnäs Herrgård is a manor house on a peninsula in Laxsjön, 5 km north of Dals Långed in Steneby parish in Bengtsfors municipality, Dalsland, with hiking trails and a cave. The land around the manor is a nature reserve of the same name.
The history of Baldersnäs began as early as the 1500s and was then known as Ballnäs. The start coincides with the development of the ironworks in Dalsland. Baldersnäs was expanded into a manor house in 1796 by mill owner Carl Fredrik Uggla. His nephew Carl Fredrik Wærn the elder bought the Bäckefors property and Baldersnäs in 1827 and died there in 1859. It was then owned by his son, the mill owner Carl Fredrik Wærn the younger. During this time, a magnificent park was established with passages, gazebos, artificial caves and islands. Over 240 species of shrubs and trees were planted and the plant became a widely known attraction.
Now Baldersnäs is a hotel and restaurant. And in the summertime there are souvenirs shops open on the walking road to the hotel.
