Your wife doesn’t care about your apology. In fact you should never even really use the word apologizing or sorry. You can say things like “I am sorry you are going through this” i.e. when she loses her job or a relative dies. But to use the words apologize or sorry for your actions toward her is a big waste of air.
It doesn’t mean anything to her and it really doesn’t make any difference moving forward from that point on. In fact, it is likely makes things worse because if the behavior which had you apologize doesn’t change and you do it again and you apologize or say sorry again, then it starts to lose even more value along with your “word” as a man overall.
