Описание: In 1900, Dr. Ida Scudder watched three young mothers die in a single night in Vellore, India. Powerless and heartbroken, Ida felt a calling she could no longer ignore. She returned to the United States, graduated among the first class of women admitted to Cornell Medical College in 1899, then sailed back to India to open a one-bed clinic. That clinic was the seed of Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore. Today, 125 years later, CMC Vellore is one of India's most respected hospitals and medical institutions, serving over 9,000 patients every day, from all faiths, all backgrounds, and all walks of life, with integrity, compassion, and excellence. It encompasses primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary care, a world-class nursing school, and a medical college whose graduates serve communities across the globe.

This October 2026, CMC marks a historic new chapter: the opening of a 350-bed Pediatric Specialty Center at its Ranipet Campus. This center, made possible by generous support from Canada’s Fairfax Financial Holdings in partnership with Quess Corp (based in India), will bring together Pediatric Neurology, Oncology, Intensive Care, Nephrology, and more, under one roof. Its groundbreaking was symbolized by doctors from each department placing planks of wood to form Noah's Ark; a sanctuary for the children of India. This video was presented at our 2026 Bridges of Compassion Spring Gala, held on April 9, 2026 at Chelsea Piers in New York City, where 200 guests gathered from across the globe in support of CMC Vellore's mission.
