Using a lookup, you can recolour photos, videos, and different data textures in really interesting ways based on the brightness and darkness of different parts of the image. Lookups can use a Ramp TOP to give you the ability to layout complex and rich colour palettes that are transferred into your video and image with ease.
These techniques are low cost on the system and scale incredibly well, which is why they're part of my daily toolkit!
