Responding to the Opposition's demands, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju clarified that Home Minister Amit Shah remains present in Parliament daily and that ministers attend proceedings strictly based on their respective ministry agendas. Rijiju emphasized that the Chair had given no direction requiring the Home Minister's presence in the House. Amid heavy sloganeering in the Lower House, the Lok Sabha passed the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, without a debate before both Houses were officially adjourned to reconvene on Monday, August 10.
