Over one million Australians are at high risk of cardiovascular disease and don’t know it. Despite this alarming statistic and being a national health priority, cardiovascular disease is mostly preventable. However, health professional uptake of routine cardiovascular disease risk assessment and management remains poor.
The workshop will highlight the compelling argument for initiating routine cardiovascular disease risk assessment and management in the primary health care setting for the eligible population. In the interactive workshop, Dr Greaves will share national evidence-based research findings and studies that he has led.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the cardiovascular disease risk screening barriers and enablers, with the goal of implementing practice change.
