RD27289(vid). LLANDUDNO, NORTH WALES. A ride on the upper section of the 3ft 6in Great Orme Tramway. Opened throughout from Llandudno Victoria Station to the Great Orme Summit in 1903, the Great Orme Tramway carries some 200,000 thousand passengers in the summer season.
Like many other lengthy funicular lines, it is operated in two halves with passengers changing at the halfway point and this video was filmed from an ascending car as it departs from the halfway Station and climbs through the open hillside to the summit station. Although the lower section runs through the steeply graded streets of Llandudno, the upper section, as can be seen in this video, runs on its own reserved track.
