Emergency Food Relief for 104 Families in Glen Alpin Estate

Описание: Heavy rainfall caused landslides and severe disruption in Glen Alpin Estate under the Passara Divisional Secretariat in the Badulla District. Transport routes were damaged, electricity supply was interrupted, and many families struggled to access food, cooking facilities, clothing, and other basic necessities.

Approximately 150 families were affected by the disaster, impacting around 600 individuals. In response to the most urgent needs, emergency dry food supplies were provided to 104 families, benefiting approximately 470 individuals during this difficult period.

This intervention was sponsored by Gandhi Illam and implemented by Vanni Hope Australia. Families, including children, expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, which helped restore a sense of stability and normalcy while recovery continues.

The support strengthened community resilience as local infrastructure and essential services work towards recovery.
