Vyommitra: ISRO's Female Robot Astronaut Set to fly into Space | Gaganyaan Mission | UPSC

Описание: Woman Robot Astronaut "Vyommitra" will fly into Space ahead of ISRO's ambitious “Gaganyaan" mission which is scheduled to be launched in 2025. Vyommitra is a name derived from two Sanskrit words - vyoma, meaning space, and mitra, meaning friend. "Vyom Mitra" Astronaut is designed in such a manner so as to simulate human functions in the Space environment and interact with the Life Support System.

Gaganyaan Mission
• ISRO will be sending three humans to a space orbit of 400 km for 3-days and bring them back safely to Earth.
• Astronaut Training Facility is established in Bengaluru for Physical Fitness training, Simulator training, and Flight suit training.
• After its success, India will become the fourth country to send humans into space after Russia, the US, and China.
• Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian Astronaut to orbit space in a Russian spacecraft in 1984.
