In the Bohemian Forest, wildlife filmmaker Václav Chaloupek rescues two orphaned bear cubs that would not have survived without their mother. He takes on the role of caregiver, raising the twins and preparing them for life as they grow stronger and more independent.
Bottle-feeding, daily care and long walks through the forest soon become routine. The cubs thrive, explore their surroundings and learn about the world, while Václav gains a deeper understanding of these powerful and often misunderstood animals.
As the bears grow into healthy adolescents, a difficult question remains: their future. Imprinted on humans, life in the wild is too dangerous. In sensitive and intimate images, the film follows their journey from helpless cubs to spirited young bears and the extraordinary bond they share with their human guardian.
