Creating Your Own Protein Purification Scheme | How To Purify Proteins With Different Methods

Описание: In this video, I present an example on how to purify a crude protein solution with different methods. I do this by showing how you can create your own protein purification scheme. Making your own protein purification scheme may seem hard at first but with the logical reasoning you can follow in this video it becomes a lot easier. I used the website http://www.agbooth.com/pp_ajax/ to make and analyze different possible ways to purify a protein. In the example given in this video, I purified a random protein by making use of heat treatment, 2D SDS-PAGE, immunoblot (Western blot), ion-exchange chromatography, enzyme activity assays, gel filtration, and hydrophobic interaction chromatography. With these protein purification and separation methods, I was able to get a very high yield, purity, enrichment, and a relatively low cost.
