Ben Chatwin returns with 'Verdigris', a new album of caustic electronics - the first release on his own Disinter imprint. Obsessed with the physicality of sound, Chatwin utilises modular synthesis to imbue life and instability into the recordings. Pushing his exploration of analogue textures, audio is passed through an arsenal of compressors and saturators to build layers of grit and grime around this new set of tactile compositions.

Chatwin considers spirituality in the digital age with the use of medieval choral samples, which are infused subtly throughout the album. At times, processed and warped beyond recognition, these voices become another synthesised instrument, far removed from their origins. This is music as dense as it is deep, risking collapse under its own weight. Yet it glimmers with a melodic sensibility and human frailty - 'Verdigris' is both forward looking and demanding of attention.
