Somewhere inside this old rhythm box lies a hidden treasure of percussive sound. With little modifications to the original board you can unleash them and make this machine more interesting (imo).
When you take off the backplate you can see the circuitboard without too much of a hassle. The board is numbered and you can solder directly to the components. Make sure not to overheat anything with your iron.
This is the list of modification for the manual trigger sounds:
BASSDRUM: 9V TO R10 (VR3 SETS THE DECAY)
SNARE: 9V TO BRIDGE NEXT TO D1 (VR5 SETS DECAY)
CLOSED HH: 9V TO BRIDGE NEXT TO R40
OPEN HH: 9V TO D7
CRASH: 9V TO D1
WOODBLOCK: 9V TO BRIDGE NEXT TO SNARE POINT
You can make all the points above patchable (except for the 9V). This way you can create interesting beats and fills.
Enjoy!
