Suffolk County Community College's Cheer Team placed third in the nation at the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships last weekend.
The competition, the most prestigious college cheerleading championship in the country, was held at the Walt Disney World® Resort's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from January 15 to 17.
Suffolk was only one of two junior colleges competing among a total of 11 colleges and universities in the open All-Girl Division.
“Our goal was to make it into Finals at our first ever UCA Nationals. Being ranked third in the nation went beyond our expectations. Now to work towards next year and bring home the title,” said Coach Gina Caputo.
