You SSDI hearing date has finally arrived. You have been waiting for this day for months and you have prepared with your lawyer. Your testimony goes well - you answer clearly questions posed to you by your lawyer and by the judge.
Now the judge is talking to the vocational witness. These questions refer to a "hypothetical person" who is the same age as you with the same work history and level of education.
Each question contains what seem like dozens of parts. When responding to some of these questions the vocational witness identifies jobs that you (the hypothetical person) could perform. Sometimes the vocational witness says "no jobs."
What does all of this mean? Are you going to win? to lose?
In this video, I explain how hypothetical questions work and why the judge is asking them. I'll also tell you what to ask your lawyer to find out whether these questions represent good news or bad.
