EagleTree Guardian 3D Gyro Extreme Testing on the Eurofighter - HD 50fps

Описание: ZELDA FINALLY REACHED 200 FLIGHTS !! (That's how I called this airframe). These were the flights 200th to 203rd and I was testing the EagleTree Guardian 2D/3D gyro to the limits of its capabilities.

I was positively surprised considering I was running hovering tests with a jet that has less than 1:1 T/W in a very windy day and still got decent results. Mind that I was tweaking with the gyro settings along the flights, starting with medium gain on the first flight and increasing it little by little until it reached maximum on the last one (flights are shown in order). Mind as well that although I am using digital metal gear servos they are quite slow so the stabilizing performance could dramatically increase with faster servos.

On the video there's a few times where I get low-speed oscillations (wing rocking, particularly), my guess, more due to lack of thrust vectoring speed/authority than because an excess of gain. There were no oscillations at high speed. Also I was using the gyro exclusively in 3D mode, direct rate, with and without heading hold mode, but I had it on a switch and turned it on just to perform the maneuvers as I prefered the traditional feel that I am already accustomed to of the jet during the turns with the gyro off. Take-offs and landings were performed with gyro off as well.
