It's an iconic childhood toy that's still going strong 60 years after it was launched. Scalextric was first developed and built at Havant in Hampshire in the 1950's. This documentary film tells the story of the making of this family favourite told by those who were involved. The project was conceived by Millstream Productions in partnership with The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre. The documentary featured on BBC South Today and BBC Inside Out and the year-long scheme of work culminated in a premiere screening and exhibition housed at The Spring.
We were supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
