Bounty Island Brings Firewalking To The Mamanucas
The Firewalkers from Beqa, meke and sere, traditional wood carving, basket weaving and mat making, as well as a history and display of Fiji medicines are just some of the cultural past that is being introduced wednesdays and saturdays weekly on Bounty Island.
Bounty Island is part of the Mamanuca chain of Islands in near proximity to its sister resort Treasure Island. its is 50% owned by the Nakelo landowners of Vuda.
Much of the cultural experience will be provided by the Nekelo Landowners, direct decendants of the first Fijians to land in the country.
In addition to the cultural activities there is a turtle pond. part of a conservation tag and release programme. The Island also offers visitors snorkling and swimming or just relaxing on its white sand beaches.
